003.10 SITE VISIT

Part of the work of designing and discovering restorative environments is seeing the environments we spend a lot of time in with new eyes. This activity invites you to spend time in a restorative environment. It helps you to understand what you find restorative about it. It also may help you recognize tensions in that environment—elements that may compromise your restoration.

Extend

Try this at home or on your commute.

Make it a group experience. Find 1-3 other folks and take each other to your favorite secret spots. Share your answers to the questions below with each other while you're there.

Consider

What do you notice in this place?

What is natural? What is built?

What do you usually do here? What do others do?

What enables you to come here? What prevents?

How is technology used here, if at all?
